Castor Gonzalez-Escobar

Castor Gonzalez-Escobar is partner of GR LEX in charge of dealing with matters concerning unfair competition, infringements of Intellectual Property Rights and litigations. Also advises clients on planning their trademark strategies and dealing with the proceedings for the corresponding applications.

Mr. Gonzalez-Escobar has an extensive experience dealing with anti-counterfeiting operations, covering the control of the whole process of enforcement campaigns, including investigations, execution of raids, seizures, border measures, and prosecution, designing and executing successful campaigns on behalf of international well known luxury brands, achieving significant positive results.
Mr. Gonzalez-Escobar studied at the Santa Maria University School of Law where he earned a J.D. and he was awarded a specialization in Intellectual Property Law (LL.M.) from Los Andes University. He also has been Professor of Copyright Law at the Andres Bello Catholic University, and Invited Professor of Intellectual Property at the Superior School of the Venezuelan National Guard. In addition, he has written various articles and law reports concerning Intellectual Property and has participated as speaker and lecturer at many local and international conferences in this field.
 Active member of many of the most prestigious Intellectual Property associations, such as the International Trademark Association (INTA) where was Member of the Anti-counterfeiting and Enforcement Sub-Committee for Latin American and the Caribbean; Inter American Copyright Institute (IIDA); Inter American Industrial Property Association (ASIPI) acting as Secretary of the Anti-counterfeiting Committee; Venezuelan Industrial Property Agents Association (COVAPI); and the Venezuelan Bar Association.
